The fan was faulty from the factory. Was told to contact Martec direct to claim warranty. Because my son-in-law installed the fan (he is a qualified electrician) it voided the warranty because he did not hold a contractors licence and I did not want to chase him up for a copy of his electrical licence. Too hard. Bought another fan (different brand), he installed it and it's going fine. I am much too busy to be chasing around, writing letters, faxing off receipts etc when it should have been a simple purchase of a fan and have it installed, or the supplier replace it.

Sorry to hear you had some problems. Unfortunately it is a Law in Australia that all electrical products be installed by a licensed electrictian and because of this we do require the electrical contractors licence number.
Faults do sometimes occur with any product but that is why the fan comes with an in home warranty from Martec. To claim a warranty you only need three documents. Your receipt of purchase, warranty card and the receipt of instalation showing the licence number.
If we can be of any further help please let us know.
